Design

The iTel S18 wears a new design accent, different from that on its predecessor.

It flaunts a simple but attractive design with a plastic body and glass up front.

This indeed, is one of the best design we’ve seen on the iTel phone yet, but the dew-drop notch upfront is a bit outdated at this time.

Flipping through the rear, you are greeted by tastefully designed rectangular camera module.

This module is home to a large lens with star-ring design, coupled with two smaller lenses and a flashlight.

Just beside the module, there’s a fingerprint scanner and an “iTel” branded logo boldly scripted at the bottom left corner.

The stereoscopic pattern textured design and the curved raster gradient colour finish on the back panel, add a premium look, and a unique tactile experience.

It’s 8.7mm thick and rounded corners offers comfortable grip, even with one hand usage.

Around the edges, you’d find a USB-2.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack, and speaker grills all perfectly positioned on the lower edge of the smartphone.

Meanwhile, the right side accommodates the power key and volume rockers while the SIM tray which uses a shared slot with the SDcard, sits on the left.

The S18 can be snapped in three color finishes: Mint Green, Digital Silver, and Midnight Black colour options.

Display

Moving on to the front, the device sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a dew-drop notch design positioned at the top center.

However, this is large enough for watching movies, browsing pictures and reading your favourite novels online.

The HD+ display offers a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, that delivers a pixel density of 272 ppi.

This IPS provides higher colour rendering ability and colour saturation, that makes for an extraordinary visual experience.

The phone hit a highest brightness mode of 400 nits, which means you’d be needing a shadow to view content in very bright, outdoor environment.

The Itel S18 can be snapped in three colour finishes: Mint Green, Digital Silver, and Midnight Black colourways.

Camera

The company claims this is it’s first vlog smartphone. Compared to it’s predecessor’s, the selfie shooter is indeed the most upgraded feature.

The rear camera is started off with an 8MP main camera accompanied by two unspecified camera sensors.

The main camera is equipped with autofocus and an LED flash to assist with low-light photography

Some cool photo modes and features of the camera unit include, the Bokeh effect, AI Face Beauty, panorama modes, filters, Fast Short Video Shooting, One-Click Share, and lot more.

The selfie camera is ramped from the 5MP camera on it’s predecessor to an 8MP AI shooter.

This sensor is capable of facial recognition, video calls and selfie shots.

Hardware and Software

Powering the device is a entry level Unisoc SC9863A processor built in 28nm process technology.

This is the same processor seen in the duo’s of Nokia C12 Plus and Nokia C12 as well as Infinix Smart 7 Plus and Infinix Smart 7 HD.

The octa-core processor is assisted by a 2GB RAM that supports up to 2GB of expandable RAM.

This provides smooth and efficient performance in low-end task.

For multimedia, files and apps, there’s a 64GB built-in storage which is enough to cater for your needs.

Meanwhile, you can choose to increase the storage up to 128GB using microSD card, but not without sacrificing one of your SIM cards.

The S18 phone runs on itel’s O.S 8.6 based on light version of Android 12 (Go Edition).
