Itel P40

Itel P40 is a power-packed cheap Android phone released by China-based mobile phone manufacturer company.

The device succeeds the 2022’s itel P38 and comes with exciting features.

This include an IPS LCD screen with dual cameras and a decent processor.

Others include a 6000mAh battery with 18W charging support which is the focal point of device.

It parades an energetic and innovative design with three-dimensional stripes that shows a combination of modernity and ingenuity.

The large rectangular camera module occupies the top half of the rear and it houses a dual camera unit, a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner.

The dual camera has a double camera lens inspired by a racing car, showing a blend of youth and style.

The minimalist design coupled with it’s symmetric textured design offer more comfortable and stable handling experience.

For functionality, the conventional setup of volume and power button on the right and SIM/card tray on your left is maintained.

At the bottom, you’d find the audio jack, microphone, USB port, and speaker grille.



The front is covered by a 6.6-inch Waterdrop display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels which is slightly smaller than iTel P40+.

The bezel around the screen offers a 90% screen-to-body ratio that pulls an immersive experience when watching movies or viewing content.

The phone boast of a 72% colour saturation to restore true-to-life colours to images displayed on the screen.



The Itel P40 comes with a dual camera at the back.

This include a 13MP main camera that captures exhilarating moments, by delivering crisp and clear detailed image in favourable lighting conditions.

Supporting the main camera is a QVGA AI lens  with functions such as depth sensing and scene recognition.

The camera also feature modes such as Panorama, Time-lapse, Pro and auto-HDR for improved images.

The camera can record video of 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second (FPS).

For selfies, the P40 is fitted with a 5MP front-facing camera.

This camera is equipped with video recording and Face Unlock, which allows user to comfortably unlock their device via facial recognition.

Also available include Face Beauty mode and Auto-HDR mode for enhanced selfie shots, in varying lighting conditions.

The front-facing camera supports 720p video recording at 30 frames per second (FPS).


Hardware and Software

Beneath the chassis, the Itel P40 is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A processor, found in Infinix Smart 7, and Infinix Smart 7 HD.

The 1.6GHz octa-core processor delivers decent performance for low-moderate task.

The CPU which is paired to the PowerVR GE8322 GPU, enhances graphics rendering and decent visual experience for gaming and multimedia applications.

For faster experience, the device comes in various RAM options of – 2G, 3GB and 4GB RAM paired with 64GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage respectively.

The RAM storage uses memory fusion technology to achieve extra 3GB storage while the built-in storage is expandable using the microSD card.

For Software, the P40 breathes on Itel’s OS 8.6 based on Android 12 (Go Edition).



For connectivity, the P40 supports dual nano SIM cards with 4G network support. Furthermore, there is a Bluetooth 4.2 , Audio jack, wifi, GPS and microUSB for charging and data transfer.



One of the selling point of the P40, is it mega 6000mAh battery capacity which can last up to 3 days on moderate use.

This is supported with an 18W fast-charging support.


Itel P40 Price and Availability

The price of Itel P40 starts at $75. In Nigeria, the Itel P40 cost about ₦57,000.

The smartphone was announced on March 13, 2023, and was made available for purchase in May, 2023.
