American tech giant Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 11 series. Key specifications

An ultra-wide camera with12 MP + 12 MP dual Primary Cameras, Quad LED True Tone Flash, 12 MP Front Camera and Retina Flash gives you more shooting flexibility and can capture 120 degree field of view.

The variant models are equipped with iOS 13, which is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. iPhone 11 is powered by 2.5 GHz hexa core Apple A12 Bionic (7 nm) processor and runs on a 4 GB RAM which makes it the fastest phone you can buy. While the “Pro” runs on a 6GB RAM. This features makes multitasking alot easier and faster, so you don’t have to wait for the app to load even with the heaviest apps. Apple release storage options which comes in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB, which vary in price.

The 6.1 inches (15.49 cm) LCD screen is bright and colorful, although the OLED displays on the “Pro” models are brighter.

They are dust proof with improved water resistance (up to 30 minutes in a depth of 2 meter). The tougher glass front and black makes it rugged and durable.

You can choose from six colour variant which includes red, green, black, white, purple and yellow.

The battery life has significantly improved as apple promises the “Pro” lasts four (4) hours longer than the iPhone XS. While the “Pro Max” is five (5) hours longer than the iPhone XS Max. These phones support 18W fast charging.

Price and availability

IPhone 11 is now on sale (Sept.20), the prices of iPhone 11, “Pro and “Pro Max” ranges from $699 (approx. ₦254,000), $999 (approx. ₦362,000), 1099 (₦39800) for 64GB respectively. That is $50 (approx. ₦18,100) less than what Apple charged last year for the iPhone XR.

The “Pro” cost $1149 (approx. ₦416,000) for the 256GB model, and $1349 (approx. ₦489,000 in Nigeria) for the 512GB model.

  • It has impressive cameras
  • Ultra-fast performance
  • Improved battery life
  • iOS 13 brings much-needed features like dark mode.

  • 720p display with unsightly notch
  • Ships with a 5W power brick
  • Doesn’t offer enough to warrant an upgrade

If you want to buy a new iPhone, the iPhone 11 is highly recommended. It has almost same features as the other variant (“pro” and “pro max”) . The price comes handy which is over ₦100k cheaper than the other variant. The full HD+ AMOLED panels on the ‘Pro` models with support for HDR10+ are no doubt better than the IPS screen on the iPhone 11, but if you aren`t a display freak, it wouldn`t make a world of difference to you. For HDFC cardholders, it is available with a cashback of approximately ₦30,000, which makes the deal even sweeter. Of course, you could go for the iPhone XR too, which is also available at an attractive price of ₦225,000. Though, if you have the purchasing power, the iPhone 11 offers more versatile camera capabilities and slightly better battery life.
