Car games for children — Long road trips feel even longer when you have children continually asking – are we there yet?. Then they are either fighting over trivial things, asking for a snack, or needing to go pee.

The goal is to keep them busy so a few fun car games for children would help. Participate in these games so they remain engaged and before you know it, you’ve reached your destination!

Here are 3 super fun car games for children you should try during road trips!

Family Fairy Tale

This is a one way to pass time and to get those creative juices flowing. One person starts the story with “Once upon a time… ” And another completes the sentence. Have everyone in the car participate in the story using one sentence each per turn. When everyone has had 3 turns, you can then wrap it up. You can choose to set a timer or not.

Before you proceed, it would be fascinating to record the game, have someone transcribe it later and you’ll have your very own family fairy tale!

Hypothetical Questions

This is also nice game to play while on a family road trip. This game allows you to get to know your children better. Ask hypothetical questions and see how your kids will are going to answer. Ensure everyone have their turn (including you, the parents!) asking and answering the questions.

Here are some questions you can ask:

If you could have a super power, what would you do and why?

If you could choose a super power, which would you do pick and why?

If you won a lottery, what would you possibly do with the money?

If you could eat one food for a week, what would it be?

If you could put wings on any animal, which animal would it be?

If you could be invisible for a day, where will you go and what would you do?

The Name Game

Exercise those brain cells and play this name game! Provide a letter and a category (for example, letter P, animals) and everyone takes a turn naming something that falls under that category untill someone fails. You can set a timer, and anyone who can’t say an entry when the time runs out is eliminated from the round. You can try categories such as places, persons, animal,food, cartoon charactersetc.
